As the leading international organization for migration, IOM acts with its partners in the international community to:

IOM in Serbia

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governments, inter-governmental and non-governmental partners.

With 120 member states, a further 19 states holding observer status and offices in over 100 countries, IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advices to governments and migrants.

IOM has offices and operations on every continent, where it helps governments and civil society through: assisted voluntary return and reintegration projects, measures to counter trafficking in persons, labour migration projects, technical cooperation on migration,. migration medical and public health programmes, emergency and post conflict responses, movement management and facilitating migration projects.

IOM is present in Serbia since 1992 and has assisted over 50,000 people during the conflicts of the 1990s to find a new home and start life anew. Current mission efforts are involvement in the following migration management areas: Regulating migration, Forced migration and Policy activities.
