Fair Play Exhibition

Belgrade, 30 October 2008 – A "Fair Play" exhibition was opened today in the "O3ONE" art gallery in Belgrade. The exhibition features Fair Play tournaments organised in primary schools in Serbia within the UNICEF "School without Violence" programme. The goal of the tournaments was to promote sports as an important component of the Programme that helps develop the culture of non-violence, team work and tolerance among school children.

UNICEF - Equipment and furniture for Day Care Center for Children in Conflict with Law in Prijepolje

Prijepolje, 30 October 2008 – The Serbian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and UNICEF today donated furniture and video-IT equipment to the newly opened Day Care Center for Children in Conflict with Law in Prijepolje. The funds for the procurement of the equipment were collected during the last year's sales of joint UNICEF-RTV B92 Christmas Gift Bags.

Belgrade, 14 October 2008 - “A Child’s Place is within the Family - Transforming Residential Institutions for Children and Developing Sustainable Alternatives’’ project, funded by the European Union with 1.4 million euros and implemented by UNICEF in partnership with the Serbian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, was unveiled today.

They discussed the continuation of partnership and cooperation between the Serbian Parliament and UNICEF related to the improvement of the status of child rights in Serbia.
Upon Ms. Reichenberg presentation on the work of UNICEF in Serbia, the Parliamentary Speaker expressed her commitment to children's rights and long-term partnership with UNICEF.

Belgrade, 2 October 2008 – The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia, UNICEF and Hypo Alpe Adria Leasing company have presented a manual for parents “What Happened in School Today?” The manual has been devised within the UNICEF’s programme “School without Violence – towards safe and enabling environment for children” which is being implemented in primary schools in Serbia.
