Policy/practice gap research on Gender Based Violence

Research "When Silence Screams: A Contribution to the Analysis of Gender Based Violence in Serbia" was carried out in 2007 by a researcher, Biljana Brankovic, in a participatory process with the UN Gender Theme Group. It gives an overview of international framework on gender based violence, compliance of national legislation/policy with international standards, implementation of national legislation on domestic violence, discrepancy between prevalence rates and reporting to institutions, and system of data collection. The research gives policy recommendations to the UN and other international actors in the field of gender based violence.
